The short version

Nainital's greatest hits are refreshingly close together. Row across Naini Lake, ride the ropeway to Snow View Point, climb (or cheat up to) China Peak for the big Himalaya view, and pay your respects at the lakeside Naina Devi temple. Add Tiffin Top, the Eco Cave Garden and an evening on the Mall Road and you've a full, unhurried two days. Start each morning early, the sights are serene before 9am and swamped by noon, and let the lake set the order of your day.

Gaurav knows Nainital from moving through it every day - he runs deliveries across town, up every slope and down every lane most visitors never find. So he'll tell you the useful things: which "lake-view" room actually faces a wall, what's overrated, and what the booking sites leave out. Every stay guide here crosses his desk before it goes live - if it carries his name, a local has vouched for it.
